Dunedin locals create chandeliers to light up the night with a dedicated Facebook group
DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) – Residents of Dunedin are lighting up the night with handmade art on the streets of the neighborhood – and a dedicated Facebook group is helping everyone.
“Chandeliers of Dunedin” is a public Facebook group that was created on April 18 this year. It has nearly 2,000 members across the country.
The concept of lawn chandeliers is branching out, with those from other places in Pinellas County – like Clearwater – displaying their designs, as well as much farther north, including New York City.
Those involved with the group are also posting helpful advice, such as craft sales in the Dunedin area for people to stock up on. Group members who wish to switch to solar power are also catered for.
The hobby is personal for many. Madison DiLoren Hutchinson started raising monarch butterflies during the coronavirus pandemic and “wanted to honor” the species with her chandelier theme.
Brian Luna has a chandelier that he programmed to change color and design, a unique take on an already extremely unique concept in the city.
He also recently lit his garden chandelier pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
You can visit the group on Facebook to share your photos or register to receive tips on how to create your own art.
